From the supplier: Fair, Isaac and Company Inc has developed computer software that enables property and casualty insurance underwriters to determine the risk of potential policyholders by using consumer credit data. The ASSIST software program has models for homeowners, automobile and fire insurance policies. The software assigns a score to policyholders based on data from their credit reports. The higher the credit score, the less risky the policyholder is likely to be.
